A few days after a long-delayed graphics update for Minecraft, Microsoft has unveiled an additional update for the block-based game's visuals.
This update enhances how light bounces around Minecraft scenes to make them look more "realistic".
The graphics patch will only be available to Nvidia RTX users.
Microsoft stated that it would be available in 2020, but gave no firm date.

The RTX graphics cards use a technique known as "ray tracing" to do a better job of figuring out how light bounces around virtual scenes in games.
It can make the visuals on the screen more realistic by creating shadows, colors, and the play of light in game environments appear more realistic.
"Ray tracing sits in the middle of what we think will be the next step for Minecraft," said Saxs Persson, creative director of Minecraft at Microsoft in a statement.
"In normal Minecraft the block of gold looks yellow, but with ray tracing turned on, you really get to see the specular highlight, and you get to see the reflection, and you can even see a mob of people reflected in it," he said.
Writing on the Rock Paper Shotgun game news website, Katharine Castle said the update was "impressive in action".
She also stated she was concerned about how easy Minecraft's RTX updates will be to use.
Ms Castle stated that it will require an "hefty" RTX to run all the different lighting effects, shadows, and atmospheric effects simultaneously.

The cost of Nvidia cards vary widely among online retailers, however, low-end cards typically cost more than PS300, The most expensive in the range can cost thousands. The update will only be available on Windows 10.
Mojang, the maker of Minecraft, said that the update will be available as an option on the settings screen. This will allow players to test the update while it is being developed.
It also said that it was working on overhauling Minecraft's graphics engine. This will provide visual improvements for players who don't have an RTX graphics card or are unable to play the game on an PC.
"Not all devices support Ray Tracing, however we will be able to provide some graphics enhancements on most devices," said Mojang. No date has been given for when the general update will be released.
